Superstitious
The inhabitants of Conowaso are convinced that every natural phenomenon can be explained by extraterrestrial powers and gods. They don’t think that climate change is human induced because according to them, the weather gods have full control about the weather situation. The monarch Pedro Petroleum is also worshipped by the people of Conowaso. They see him as a guru.
Restraint
The atmosphere among the people is reserved. They live under the motto “ignorance is bliss” and only care about their own business to avoid problems with the fellow men. To live a successful life, it’s important to have everything under control and to have a certain restraint.
duo-lifestyle
Conowaso is divided in two big parts, the North and the South. Both parts have their own specific culture and habits. The Cono’s who live in the North are very adventurous and have a big spirit to survive. They have to face a subarctic climate everyday, which makes them very independent. The Waso’s live in the southern part of Conowaso, they are known for their laid-back character. Their way of life is inspired by the expression ‘carpe diem’ or seize the day, they take whatever crosses their path.
rational
The inhabitants, who are mostly men, act in a very rational way. Because of the fact that they are restraint, they don’t express their feelings and emotions easily. Only within their own families they can ventilate, but during a normal day they have a reserved personality. The inhabitants are very realistic and they see ‘work’ as an activity to earn money, a necessity, whether they like it or not.
Togetherness
Despite of the restraint inhabitants of Conowaso, a certain level of collectivism gives them a feeling of togetherness. That feeling is necessary to fully participate in their religion. As one community, they are supposed to resist against the bad powers of the upper gods and they are allowed to unite for their holy monarch.
non-ecological
Conowaso’s economy is petroleum-based so the inhabitants are proud and use a lot of oil. They are not aware that these supplies of oil can run down. Because they think short term, they are not concerned about the future and its consequences, they live day by day. They also don’t believe that climate change is human induced, because the weather gods are in charge of all this. And that’s the reason why Conowaso doesn’t invest in climate change programmes, it would be lost money.
Increase the worldwide export of petroleum, from 45% to 60%. Therefore we have to invest in more manpower so we will boost the birth rate.
Attract more tourists in the North as well as in the South because there is potential to receive more earnings from tourism.
